Rethinking the Way the Church Does Ministry By, For and With Youth
I'm not so certain there should be a prayer in the Senate at all, but this sort of display does nothing for Christianity.
I agree completely. When I first saw that video I was highly disturbed.
What a shame! The thing that bothers me most isn't even just that it actually happened. It's that you know they were back at their churches the following Sunday bragging about what a great thing they did.I'm very disappointed, even embarrassed as a follower of Christ to be associated with that type of behavior.
Calvin and Dan, thanks for the comments. I understand in a way why some folks think that these sorts of acts show they are passionate about their faith. But why they can't get it through their heads that to do so in the senate chamber goes against all the freedoms this country is built upon! Unfortunately, folks outside the church see this sort of thing and it gives us all a black eye.
What's wrong with you people? These guys were WITNESSING. What is so wrong about praying to JESUS in public? The Hindu guy was praying to a false god. Christ called us to WITNESS to people which is exactly what these guys were doing.
"Witnessing" is one thing. What these persons did was disrespectful and I doubt did a thing to "witness" to the love of God through Christ.
