As we continue to wait out this massive blizzard, I've spent some time thinking about Lent and all of the upcoming ministries and events the next few months. It's abundantly clear, from the protests in Egypt, to the facebook messages at home, that social networking sites and the media are changing our lives, perhaps forever?
So when I came across this article I wondered what it might look at church? This might be a good opportunity for the 40 days of Lent. And if you can't commit to turning off everything, maybe start with just one day a week.

I think it's a great idea. One of my new years resolutions was to not use my phone at all while I was in the car. I can not tell you how much better I am able to engage with people when I don't have to worry about answering texts or calls. I can only imagine what difference this would make if I dropped the phone all together.
